Gail Factor was a painter for more than five decades. An obvious artistic interest and aptitude emerged early on leading her to attend art classes at the Chicago Art Institute at the age of five. She went on to receive a BFA from the University of Southern California magna cum laude; an awarded fellowship in Fine Arts from Yale University; and independent studies in art and architecture in Europe.
Factor spent two decades creating and residing in Santa Fe, NM during which time she attended master courses with Wolf Kahn (b. 1927, German-born American) and Wayne Thiebaud (b. 1920, American) at the Santa Fe Institute of Fine Arts.
Factor’s work has been exhibited in prestigious galleries and museums throughout the USA including The University of Southern California, Los Angeles (USC), The Las Cruces Museum of Art – Las Cruces, NM, The
Pacific Grove Museum, The Museum of North Texas, and the Taos Art Museum.
In addition, her work is included in numerous prominent public and private collections. USC, Scottsdale Museum of Art (SMOCA) and the Long Beach Museum of Art have recently added sub- stantial works by Ms. Factor to their permanent collections. Previous acquisitions include IBM and the Monterey Museum of Art.
